Honda Upgrades Civic Type R for IndyCar Pace Car Duty

Honda recently unveiled their new Civic Type R Pace Car for the upcoming IndyCar season! This car has been upgraded from stock to help it perform better on the track and make it look even more eye-catching for its debut.

The braking system underwent a full upgrade with a Honda Performance Development brake package. This includes competition rotors, racing pads, and stainless steel brake lines. It's worth noting that the same package might be available to consumers for track days! In addition to the brakes, Honda fit four-point racing harnesses and some unique graphics to the Type R's exterior. With Honda, HPD and IndyCar logos, the car looked great in its white and red colour combo.

But wait, there's more! The Type R also has a unique lighting system, featuring a light bar underneath the red Honda logo in the rear and other lights hidden in the lower grille up front. Other than that, you're looking at a stock Type R with its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and its basically racetrack-ready suspension.

The Type R Pace Car made its first appearance this weekend at the opening race in St. Petersburg, FL. We can't wait to see it hit the track and show off its upgraded features!
