Genesis has been on a bit of a roll lately, with the company's latest effort being the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept. This bold and sleek new luxury SUV was unveiled at an exclusive event at Genesis House in New York and was designed with an eye on performance and handling. It features racy bucket seats for all four passengers and a giant strut brace in the rear. The concept car wears many of the signature "Two Lines" lighting elements, a ducktail spoiler, and a scorching orange pallette that conveys speed and performance. Genesis has confirmed that the model will go into production, with prototypes already being spotted in the wild. We may see the production model as early as 2024.
The Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept has the potential to tempt buyers away from competitors like the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X6, who look almost dated in comparison.
Tonight at the Genesis House in Manhattan's Meatpacking district, Genesis unveiled their GV80 Coupe concept, a four-seat version of the GV80 mid-size SUV with a carbon-fiber roof and ducktail rear spoiler. The interior is full of Alcantara, four carbon-fiber-shelled bucket seats, and a beefy cross brace. The GV80 concept is sporting giant, 23-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero Scorpion All Season tires and cross-drilled and slotted rotors clamped by large, fixed-piston calipers. The exterior is Magma inspired by the volcanos surrounding the Korean peninsula.
The GV80 concept has an internal-combustion powertrain, likely the 409-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 with electric supercharger from the G90 sedan. Design head Luc Donckerwolke asserted that "design is brand, and brand is design" and that Genesis does not intend to create a sporty subbrand for such a vehicle.
Genesis is on the rise and their GV80 Coupe concept looks largely ready for production.
