AC Cars, one of the U.K.'s oldest car companies, is getting back into the Cobra game with a brand-new design. The AC Cobra GT Roadster will be revealed in April and the car company has released some computer-generated images to get fans excited. This car has been completely re-imagined with modern technology and engineering processes. It features an extruded aluminum chassis and a body made from carbon-composite materials and the suspension was even developed in partnership with a professional racing team.
The Cobra GT Roadster is bigger than the original Cobra, with a wheelbase of 101 inches and an overall length of 166 inches. It also has a wider track and modern creature comforts such as power windows, automatic climate control, and an infotainment system with navigation. There is also a long list of optional features such as carbon-fiber seats, leather trim, and a removable hardtop.
The car has a Ford 5.0-liter V-8 engine, which can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic. Peak output is 654 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque and the estimated curb weight is around 3,300 pounds. This power is expected to provide 0-60 mph times of approximately 3.4 seconds, and the top speed will be about 172 mph.
The cost of the AC Cobra GT Roadster is expected to be around 285,000 British pounds (approximately $342,000), and the order books are already open with the first deliveries scheduled for 2024. Production will be limited, so make sure to get your orders in soon!
