Rick Hendrick recently purchased the first-ever retail production example of the much-anticipated 2024 Corvette E-Ray at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach event for a whopping $1.1 million! Fortunately, the entirety of the hammer price for the new Corvette will be donated to DonorsChoose, a nonprofit organization founded to connect donors with requests from educators/teachers. This organization has helped to fulfill over two and a half million classroom projects since its founding in 2000.
Steve Majoros, chief marketing officer at Chevrolet, expressed the company’s pride in joining DonorsChoose on its mission of combatting inequality in school funding by providing underserved communities with the resources needed for a quality education.
When delivered, the E-Ray will feature a revolutionary 6.2-liter V8 engine and electric model to the front axle, making it the first all-wheel drive Corvette to hit the market. This cutting-edge model is also the quickest production Corvette, with a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.5 seconds and a powerful 655 horsepower engine.
On his blog, Rick Hendrick discussed his excitement to obtain the first-ever retail production example of the 2024 Corvette E-Ray. He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to support DonorsChoose and the chance to drive the first all-wheel drive Corvette. He expressed his gratitude for the incredible performance of the E-Ray and the opportunity to be a part of its history.
